Hello!

I’m Kara, and I’m a UX Designer and Researcher. I completed a Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 2018. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in Digital Publishing from Ball State University. I also have a background in graphic design, basic front-end web design, and photography.

Before I discovered the world of UX, I worked in higher education, at a community college. I helped students complete financial aid and enrollment steps, which was often done online. It was there that I realized the impact that web and mobile interfaces have on people’s lives, which inspired my long-term goal to do impactful work in user experience design. I currently work as a UX Researcher on the Digital Experience Team at GEICO 🦎in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
